Making truffles is actually really easy. and it depends on what type your making!

you need:

3 Cups of Milk or Semi Sweet chocolate chips

1 Can of condensed milk (14oz)

1 Tablespoon of butter

2 teaspoons of vanilla extract

2 tablespoons of Nutella(Optional)- adding nutella gives it a hazelnut flavor to the background and it makes SOOO much of a difference!

First, you make a double boiler by boiling water in a pan, than adding a glass bowl on top of the pan. Melt the chocolate chips over the double boiler, add the butter, then as those melt together, add the condensed milk. Leave it on the heat for about 1 min, until everything is melted together.

Cover the bowl with plastic, and put it in the fridge for about 3 hours or until completely cool and firm. Then, take a mellon baller and roll the chocolate mix into balls. andd you ahve yourself truffles!

Now for garnish, you have options.

1. Melt another 2 cups of chocolate chips, and dip the truffles into the melted chocolate, than roll them into your favorite nuts (crushed of coures). Place the truffles on a piece of wax paper, and put it in the fridge for about an hour.

2. Roll the truffles around in cocoa

3. Rol the the truffles around Coconut

the easiest recipe is just a simple ganach. Which is basially a mix of chocolate and cream. Bring some cream to a boil, the same amount in weight as the weight of the chocolate. So if you are using a pint of cream, which is one pound, use one pound of chocolate. Pour the boiling cream over the chocolate and let it sit for a few min. Then stir it up so all the chocolate is melted, let it cool and harden then simply scoop and shape the truffle.

You can add many things if you like, orange zest, crushed peppermint candies, or what ever flavor you like.

you can then dip the formed cooled truffle in some melted chocolate to make a shell, then roll in coco powder to finish
Here is my quick and easy recipe for truffles...

In a large bowl mix together the following until blended well...

1/3 cup margerine

1/3 cup corn syrup

1/2 bottle flavoring (I use Mint Extract, Root Beer Extract, Banana Extract, Cherry, Lemon Extract, etc)...if you want the flavor to be stronger, add a little more of the extract....

2 1/2 bags of powdered sugar...

Slowly add powdered sugar with mixer on low speed until it starts to get thick like frosting. Remove the beaters and then knead dough with your hands with remaining powdered sugar. Form the dough into 1inch balls and refridgerate for 1 hour in a large bowl.

In the meantime, place a large piece of wax paper on a cookie sheet. In a double boiler, melt 3 bags of chocolate chips or white chocolate chips (*see HINT below*). Remove the 'balls' from refridgerator, dip one by one into the chocolate mixture using 2 spoons and place them about 1/2 inch apart on the wax paper. Refridgerate for about 15 minutes, they will be set and ready to eat.

*HINT*!!

For the Root Beer and Banana flavored truffles, I u
1 (16 ounce) package OREO Chocolate Sandwich Cookies, divided

1 (8 ounce) package PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese, softened

2 (8 ounce) packages BAKER'S Semi-Sweet Baking Chocolate, melted

1.Crush 9 of the cookies to fine crumbs in food processor; reserve for later use. (Cookies can also be finely crushed in a resealable plastic bag using a rolling pin.) Crush remaining 36 cookies to fine crumbs; place in medium bowl. Add cream cheese; mix until well blended. Roll cookie mixture into 42 balls, about 1-inch in diameter.

2.Dip balls in chocolate; place on wax paper-covered baking sheet. (Any leftover chocolate can be stored at room temperature for another use.) Sprinkle with reserved cookie crumbs.

3.Refrigerate until firm, about 1 hour. Store leftover truffles, covered, in refrigerator.

Yield: 42 servings
